I Have a Dream

In October, my English teacher showed us a song that we were supposed to use as inspiration for our writing. She played "Say what You Want To Say" by Sara Bareilles. It made me think about what I wanted to see happen in our world; things that could change. Below is what I came up with.

Inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.

I have a dream: that one day, there will be no more violence, no more wars. Just peace.

I have a dream that one day, everyone would be able to get jobs, that there would be mo more homelessness. That one day, there will be no more people on the streets, asking for money or food.

I have a dream that one day, you could afford a good lifestyle. That everything would cost less, and people would be able to afford groceries, electricity, a home.

I have a dream that one day, there would be no more sickness. You wouldn't have to worry about Malaria, or Food Poisoning. That you wouldn't see sad pictures of children and their bloated bellies.

I have a dream that one day, people would be treated equally. That the people on the streets wouldn't be denied a shower because of how nice they look; that people wouldn't be left out on the streets judging by how clean they are.

I have a dream that one day, there would be no more pollution. That you wouldn't see factories with smoke piling out of the smokestacks. That one day, everything would run on solar power; not gas, coal, or oil.

I HAVE A DREAM.

Introduction

Hi! I'm ThatGirlSara- a lover of writing and reading. This blog is not about anything in particular, just whatever is on my mind- so the last blog post could have nothing in common with the next one. If you have anything that you want advice on, leave a comment and I'll get back to you!
